ASH Blade coating - custom?

I mentioned this in another post - but what do you think? Would the shop do a different coating and my pre-ordered ASH? - for an additional cost (of course)

I am thinking it would be cool to have one in a desert shadow or jungle camo! With Black Mags :thumbup::D:thumbup:

What do you think - perhaps adding a good bottle and some Clark bars?? Might this work??
 
Well - I mean I understand some waiting - but the rest is already there..... They are then adding the coating....

Perhaps I am just going to have to try and go covert with this one... "Hi Amy this is Alton ... Alton Brown and I have a favor to ask of you ..." :)
 
Amy told me they aren't accepting anything right now. I have 2 blades for recoating and handle changes and it won't be till well after the first of the year. They're definately busy!
 
The solution is obvious!

Buy so many Busse blades that you don't mind having a few out 'on loan' to the Shop for mods. Works for me... :D
 
I asked about a handle change as well, as c4man said, they are obviously very busy! Looks like we'll just have to wait...

Good question... I'm a fan of the DSC coating as well, and would've liked to have seen it as an option, BUT... Them's the breaks. Maybe there's a reason why the shadow camo coats weren't offered this time around. Black mags with it would be sweet, but also the Black & Tan mags would have been sharp lookin' with it too...Just like my FBM's...

I would like to see the coating again that was on Bar-B-Q's Knifewife Induction AK-47, I believe it was a somewhat metallic golden-brown, I think this would be an interesting look for the ASH-1, especially on the Special HOG Edition. Anyone have any photos of this coating ??

I asked and got the same reply (Feb. 2008), I would suggesting ordering what you can now, you can always send it back for a recoat once the Custom Shop starts taking orders again and it will still cost less then a completely custom order.

As far as I know, only Induction blades have this golden coating.
