ASH1 LE handle question

Does anyone know whether the ASH1 LE's have G10 or micarta handles? I'm curious because although its listed as tiger hide the handles appear much darker and shinier than the pictures of the BATAC LE's with micarta tiger hide.

Thanks for the quick response. I have to agree with the Boss on that, the linen does look much better than the canvas micarta in my opinion.
 
I'm glad that it will be linen rather than canvas. As much as I love my BATACLE, the tiger hide is rather drab. Hopefully this stuff will have a little more "pop" to it.

In general, linen micarta tends to look a bit nicer than canvas. I wish the tan mags available for the CG ASH1 were linen rather than canvas, but we take what we can get.
 
As I understand it, Linen is substantially less durable. I don't know this for a fact, but was told it is less impact resistant. That blows it for me, since I get the dropsies often.:o

Just superglue it to your palm. Don't forget which hand to wipe with though. :eek:
 
Linen is a bit weaker than canvas, but it's still plenty tough. I've never heard of anyone breaking the slabs on a linen-micarta handled knife. I've dropped my linen-handled FFBM onto the scales on concrete, with no ill effect beyond the tiniest bit of squishing- barely a scratch. And aren't the scales covered under the warranty anyway?

I really, really did not like the canvas tiger hide on the BATAC LE....
I am curious to know if the mag tiger handles on the SFNO were also linen?
 
It woulda been neat if the LE canvas micarta handles were polished!
 
I gotta say the BRK&T polished canvas micarta sure is nice. But shipping it rough is nice in that the owner can then do with it as he pleases!
