I happened to get mine on valentines day, EXACTLY 2 WEEKS since I ordered it!!!:p BIG THANKS TO AMY, JERRY, GARTH, and all others at the shop for reviving this classic! Now you need to re-release the shbm, bring on the ASHBM1

It's now my favorite busse. It feels great in the hand(I got regular handles as you can see, my hands are kinda small, but my friend with larger hands says he prefers the regular handles too)

If you don't haven't ordered one yet you are nuts!!! I will bet to see SNFO style inflation on these a few years down the line. When I first saw it I actually didn't like it, but it has really grown on me and with rumors of it coming down soon I had to act. I am now debating if I should get another, in black with black micarta. Or maybe i'll wait and see what colors Skunk gets in. Anyways here are some pics(it's not gonna be mint for long;):

Congrats on the ASH-1! I can't wait to get mine. It definitely looks like a beast.

I call my ASH my baby Battle Mistress. It is a machete in a pocket. I really like mine, its not going anywhere.

The problem with waiting for Skunk to get them is, you never know if he will get enough for you to get one! Some he has for months on end and some he sells out in short order. Get one from the man up front and you will be sure to have what you want. Nice combo by the way!

Congrats on the ASH1 mate. Damn nice mid size knife. I've been using mine a fair bit and it's great. The INFI steel holds it's edge really well. I've cut 2 ute (pickup) loads of tree branches with it, wood varying from super hard iron bark gum to wussy mulberry. It probably needs a little strop to get it back to scalpel sharp, but nevertheless, it's still sharp as hell after all the beating. Oh, I've also cut up several bones and stuff for my dogs - brisket, chicken frames, heavy marrow bones. You won't be disappointed with your Steel Heart.

Looks exactly like mine, except I have the DC finish. I had the same deal...it was somewhat intimidating at first...massive chunk of steel, but its warming up to me.

I too prefer the standard grips. Someday I will probably make my mag gripped one trade fodder. I heard someone say that any blade over .25 they go with standard grips, under .25 they go with mags. That is probably what I will do from now on.

pete

I also got the desert olive/sage with tan grips, I am now a huge fan of that combo. Definitely my favorite of the standard offerings.
