I ordered ASHBM LE with choil and I did not understand how someone could like and want choiless version.... The picture on the busse web of choiless version just did not convince me.

After live pics of choiless version I completely changed my mind and have asked Lexi to change my order to choiless...
I think for SHBM with its handle and front guard geometry is choiless the best way to go. For fusion handle models I prefer choil completelly (they have wider proportion front guard), I can not imagine FSH or FBM without choil at all

Am I alone who was thinking the same?

@ Lexi, pls remember my change as I wrote to you, #153 paper choiless  Thank you!

I love the choiless and am glad they
Revolutionized it ;)

I was thinking the same thing, then I saw the real end result and was very pleased.

My bad....I misread.

Congrats on your purchase:thumbup:

Enjoy:cool:

IMO choliess looks more as a kind of sword actually :)
I think choil version is too narrow above the choil, not so proportional as on models with bigger guard.

I went with choiless -- and I'm totally glad I did. On a big blade that isn't meant for much finer work a choil can get caught in things and cause injury. Don't get me wrong having a choil is still fully functional and good looking. I just prefer one without on very large blades. On medium sized blades I think a choil is a must IMHO. That's why I got a NMSFNO with a choil. Congrats on your new blade!

Proof that one size does not fit all. Congrats on choosing what YOU like. I'm sure it will serve you well...

My ASHBMCG was supposed to be delivered today, but our carrier just left a note in my mailbox saying that it needed to be signed for!

I decided on the version with choil.
Not for delicate work or anything like that, simply because I find that a properly finished edge all the way back on the blade is sometimes useful
Getting to that area with my stones is simply easier, and it leaves less marks and/or need for grinding away steel when the knife gets worn over time.

Different strokes for different folks. The nice thing is there really isnt a wrong choice. Either way you get an amazing blade just the way you want it.
