Howdy! one of the characteristics that drew me to the War Train was that the edge of the blade is further out than the talon hole loop... To my surprise, I was glancing over Busse's website and the ASHBM LE that is pictured appears to have an edge that goes further out than the talon loop as well .. I know I have held an older SHBM and im pretty sure this was not the case.. did some of the straight handle battle mistress models have this? or is it an illusion?

No -- sadly I don't think it does. Some people were a little unhappy that it didn't actually because it was originally advertised as having a blade height of 2 inches (which would have been perfect) -- but many were reporting 1.7-1.8 inches in actual blade height.

It's still an excellent blade that is extremely versatile

I kinda thought it might be an illusion.. I think I recognize your blade, colors, table an lack of a choil.. you did an unbox vid right? have you gotten her out to beat on her?

Yes sir indeed --- I did a half complete Table Top Unboxing review of it on YouTube. I have since parted with it --- so I never gave it the proper thrashing she deserved, but at least someone out there will.

In fact, I'm actually considering picking one up again. It's either going to be a Battle Saw or an ASHBM

ya I remember it now, ya had a couple beckers an a cool kuk thing.. ya id be all over a Battle Saw..after playing with DBrowns stripped Battle Saw..I want one.. tho when I first saw David holding it I thought it was a RMD/saw... hes a big dude!

The ASHBM is a GREAT KNIFE, Everyone should have at least One-Just my opinion, the Straight Handle is not my favorite, but the ASHBM is a machine when it comes to chopping! It may not be the prettiest either, but it has a proven track record-Cheers!!!

Lol --- yes he is!!

Btw that Khukri is a Aranyik Thai Enep K-1 ----- phenomenal blade
