They both feel great in the hand! The LE feels faster and the CG feel like a better chopper. Iv'e got to put them both head to head in the field.

Thanks for the pics, Hog Feet! That spine shot is just what I was looking for.

I prefer the LE so much I'm dumping out both my CG's (but will definitely KEEP my HOG edition). I just see me using the LE's more. The CG's make me understand what a FFBM feels like vs. a FBM. Too heavy!

I'm all for lots of steel in a goof-off knife, but a user? I just cant' see carrying a 23oz knife when a barely-14oz knife will do.

A head to head has to be done.

THe le's feel fragile in comparison

I think we've been playing with so many fatties of late that a very respectable .225 blade feels light.
You could use your LE to slice through a car hood, kill a few trees, chop up some cinder block.....and she'd still be begging for more.:D

Nice comparison shots, and nice knives!

I love the feel of my ASH1 LE's, they're just right IMO.

The only 'CG' I'm getting is the HOG edition, so I don't know what the thicker blade is like yet. It will be my first fatty!

CG for me! I have two of them and well I really like that fat ASH and would not trade one of my Fat boys for one LE.

I dont have an LE but I love my CG's. I like my outdoor knives coated whenever possible. Also I like FAT blades, not that the LE is skinny. Maybe someday Ill pick one up.

I prefer the CG myself. THE LE is definitely one of the most comfortable and quick knives I have held but I like the brutish quality of the CG's. Time will tell :D

The .21-.22 ASH1LE is plenty thick for knife related tasks. In my opinion it is about ideal for a knife that size. The thickness of the CGASH1 is overkill for the most part unless it is being used as a dedicated prybar. The CGASH1 is about indestructible as it gets whereas the ASH1LE is a bit more refined and sophisticated :D

Despite its thickness, the CG Mags feels fantastic in my hand. Time will tell how useful this very thick knife is, but it sure feels great. I like the LE, but it didn't have the immediate visceral appeal of the CG. Probably a more practical knife, but I still lean toward the CG. It fills my hand a little better and feels incredibly solid and strong.

Can't go wrong with either one -- both are great. The LE is a beautiful knife with many uses. The CG occupies a unique niche -- not sure what it is, but I look forward to finding out! I'll be interested in hearing how people are using and enjoying their CGs over time.

I think I am 'that' niche......:cool::thumbup:

Bring it!

Anybody have the outer diameter (typically) of a CG with Mags? Brian wont give me mine back, still!

The LE would be the better camp knife IMO. But I love the feel and the heft of the CG. I'm glad Boss Hog made both.

For carring all day and peeling potatoes, the LE might have the edge, for some people, but I prefer a small size knife for that. The extra weight for chopping, with the added thickness for batonning, and prying gives the CG my vote for favorite medium size, jack of all knives. Not to heavy to carry, or to big, it feels just right in my hands. Not tring to offend anybody just my two cents, or opinion, which is like belly buttons, everybody got one. Both are great knives, you really can't go wrong either way! Unless you don't get one!:D
