Here are some photos taken last night at the open forge pavilion, several forges going so everyone was able to have a chance at moving metal...

Thanks guys, it's raining here, it held off most of the day so that was good! here are a few more images;

Tim Neu, head honcho for us while we are here, he used to be employed by Ashokan but the owners trimmed a lot off and he caught the axe, but they let him take care of us hoodlums each year still so he is able to come back each September...

Roman Landes gave a great lecture on steels and edges, very interesting, tomorrow he will expound on sharpening methods

Walking in from the parking lot to the back of the buildings, most if not all have a second story entrance way as well.

My wife's uncle, Warren Strout, Lone Wolf Cutlery, we've traveled to Ashokan for close to 20 years...

What Lorien said! I really like the pictures and you obviously have a good "eye".

Gary,

I am always impressed with your work, I follow you silently, and want to thank you for your contribution, as well as your demeanor on BF. It is inspiring. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks guys, appreciate that, while these are catch as catch can photos, especially the candids, I just wanted to capture the weekend as best I could, here are a few more to add;

Roman Landes talking this morning on sharpening

In the foreground on the left is Chris Meyer capturing the lecture in video as well.

Thanks guys, I apologize for the dagger images, they were taken on Sunday morning during the display time just before lunch, so limited time, setting, made for a hasty few shots of that, more time and better setup would certainly have helped, I knew the overall shot would certainly be lacking but wanted that to give some perspective to the entire dagger.

Ashokan is coming up pretty quickly ! Haven't seen anything solid yet for the schedule of each day but those of you that were interested, just a heads up it'll be Sept 12-14, 2014.

So get ready folks!
