Thought that while you folks truly enjoy the sword,
you may not venture into the Knifemakers area of the
forum too often and wanted to pass along some info
regarding the up coming Ashokan seminar, Sept 17, 18 and 19th
at Ashokan NY, it's near Kingston NY.
Here's the thread that talks about it
And here's some photos I took from last year's weekend
They try to hold a weekend about swords every 5 years and this is the year.
So if you like swords and want to learn more on them, how they are made and some history as well
or if you want to learn how to make them, you should check into this weekend,
The location is deep into the woods, they have a bunkhouse sleeping arrangements but also not too far
away you can locate a hotel if needs be.
Food is excellent and on Sunday they have a 'show and tell' kind of afternoon, not really a knife show
but things can and do get sold or traded off.
It's always a great weekend there but they are limiting the number that can attend so you should check
into as soon as you can.
Thanks for reading this far, now back to our regular scheduled programming
