[ask] kanetsune machete

I just googled it and got this:

It's made by a fella in Japan named Kanetsune hence the namesake. They're good blades. Made from Japanese blue "Aigomi" steel, a form of Damascus. I had the small Machete that I used for some lighter work around the yard. It held up well to wood chopping and sliced well for some pruning. The edge is very thin and is a zero edge with no bevel. The primary grind tapers all the way down to the cutting edge. This makes sharpening very easy. I sharpened mine with 1200 grit sandpaper on top of some horse stall rubber matting and used stropping motions to hone it back to razor. It holds and edge well, cuts well, is strong (for a thin edge, I wouldn't test it on anything crazy, just use it for brush, vines, wood, and other vegetation. Preferably the lighter stuff.
