Where do you find your traditionals? It seems that what I consider affordable (sub 100 dollar, but really a lot less than that if I can help it) limits me somewhat, but I'm still interested in finding good deals on traditionals, even old ones that may need some care. I live within walking distance of a flea market, but they mostly sell import junk from what I've seen.

So where do you folks find most of your traditionals these days? Trade here? Buy on the big auction site? Other places?

I'm in the Midlands area of South Carolina if anyone has any tips.

I've found one or two good deals on some old stock Case knives (I really like Peanuts and similar size knives) online, but nothing recently. It seems like the prices keep going up and it's hard to gauge quality, etc.

With Queen folding up recently, and the a few other old companies within the last decade or two, I feel like now's the time to find one or two nice ones to hold on to, and to carry and use.

I work in a professional office environment so traditionals are great for me to EDC.

Thanks for any info!

You can get good deals on the exchange, but the real advantage to buying here is you tend to get an accurate description. Flea markets and antique stores are hit and miss but I still stop and look and have found some gems:) The big auction site requires a lot of sifting and some knowledge of what to look for and ask.

Because of forum rules regarding deal spotting and supporting the list of BF Member Dealers, it's hard to answer this question here. Also, the moderators generally prefer that the discussion is about the knives themselves, and not so much where to buy them.

That can make it tough for people to figure out where to buy, so you kind of have to do your own research.

All of my previously-owned traditionals were purchased from the Exchange here, or from the large auction site.

The best way to go about it is to find a model you like and then Google where you can buy it. Any vendor with that model is likely to have other traditionals for you to choose from.

This is kind of off topic for this forum, as mentioned in a previous post. Some good recommendations have already been made.
There's a link to BF dealer members in my sig line that might be helpful.
Closing this now.
