Asking a favor (Large and Small size comparison)

I'm trying to decide whether the large or small Sebenza is right for me. Right now, the knives I carry most are a Delica 4 and a Skyline.

It would help me greatly if I could see a picture of the large and small Sebenza next to a Delica 4 or Skyline.

Any other input is appreciated. If it helps, I have very large hands, but a small folder is not a problem for me. I have a Military but don't carry it because it's just too big (I'm referring to the handle mostly). I don't like real short blades (less than 2.5'') nor do I like very large blades (larger than 4.5''). I really prefer it under 4''. I like the BM 940's blade length. I don't like beefy knives, in terms of handle thickness.

I'd like to hear your opinions and maybe see a picture or two if it is possible. Thanks for your help.

So-Lo did a video comparing the large and small sebenza awhile back. he compares them to a delica and endura. it helped me decide what i wanted when i was in the market for my first sebenza.

The Military's handle seems much bigger

Thanks guys. The videos and pictures did help but I still am not completely sure. It's too bad none of the knife stores around me stock CRK.

Gundude, which one did you wind up getting and why?

Also, come into chat once in a while :D

I dont have a skyline or delica to compare, but you did say you like the 940. Heres a large 21 with a 942. (Sorry for the crappy phone quality)

i was actually in chat a couple nights this week. the question is, where were you? ;)

I would say get a large. When I was deciding which one to get I was leaning
towards the small. Until I went to a Cutlery Plaza and saw both knives in
person. The small is a good light edc knife but the large is capable of a lot
more IMO. I would still get a small but it would be my 2nd choice after getting
a large.

The large 21 handle is the same size as the ParaMilitary handle, but the large 21 has more blade length.

PurpleHaze, how do you think the large carries in comparison to the 940? Do you think the large gets in the way or does it disappear?

Thanks for pics fespo and gunny.

Gun: Wasn't in there too often last week. Rocket and I are there now, stop in!

Here are some pics that should fit your requirements. Sorry the lighting sucks it's late here. daylight makes all the difference.

To me it carries pretty similar. I don't like wide knives in the pocket, so a slimmer profile is usually what I tend to carry. Handle size of the large is great and very comparable to the 942. I found the small just a tad too small to really do any hard work with. As far as being in the way, it doesn't bother me at all.

Solo's videos are awesome.

I think I'm leaning towards the large based on the (excellent) pictures and videos, which I REALLY appreciate. Thanks a lot, everyone.

Gun, get your ass in chat right now.

I went round and round about this too and actually ended up buying a small, carrying/using it and then selling it on the secondary market so I could try a large - sold that too because I wasn't sure if "fit" right and I needed the money. Then after a while I bought another large and that's the keeper. My hands are a size "L" glove. With that as background, here's my .02 worth.

If I were naming them, there would be a Sebenza and a "small" Sebenza. I consider the large a regular sized folding knife and it fits my hand better where the "small" really is that - almost a gentleman's knife (though you can work the crap out of either). I've also had a Military for years and actually it seems a lot bigger in reality than a Sebenza and I don't think a picture will show that well. Pull out the larger Sebenza in an office and it doesn't raise nearly as many eyebrows as a Military does.

If you get this from a reputable dealer and I'm sure you've dealt with one or two who know you, they'd probably let you buy one and if you don't like it, return it for the other. I'd start with the "large" and if it works, you'll know the small is too small.

Hope that helped a little.
Steve
