Think I may need a Ratmandu. How many different Blade and handle configurations were there? Pics would be awesome.

I had a green blade/black canvas RMD before.

But now I have a Sage blade/black canvas RMD. No pics of the green, sorry.

I just snagged one, looks like a pretty wicked little field knife

I think there was just tan and black micarta and black G10, as for blade colors I have seen black/muddy/sage/green/grey. I have had 2 of them and parted with both, regret parting with the last one mainly cause it is really a nice blade and will definitely get another if they are ever offered again.

I think you need a RMD too.

It is knife perfection.

What is your collection like these days CP?

Adding an RMD is *always* a good thing to do. I have 2 of the 4th from the right in the picture above (black G10, black blade).

ISTR that there were at least 3 different batches of RMD's made, a first batch for a show, then a production run, then another batch for a show (IIRC the last batch was slightly different, didn't have the rounded swedge on the clip).

The two that I have are both black G10 w/black blade, so you'd think they'd be indentical, but they're not. The coating on each is different (one is coarser-grained and shiny, the other fine-grained and dull), the SRKW stamp on each is a different size and the handle scales are *very* different in thickness on each.

I think only Eric knows for sure all the production details, what varieties were made when.
