Well just thought I'd introduce my self. I just recently been hooked by the knife
bug. Ever since my first knife purchase (about 3 weeks ago) I have not been able
to get enough. Reading through the forums, watching just about every review on
youtube, and so on. Just last week I saw a review on the Izula and I had to have it.
So I have one in the mail right now and thought Id get a head start to being part
of the RAT PACK! I also have an emerson cqc-7 and a mini griptilain on the way...
If I keep up this pace Ill have a pretty nice collection pretty soon:D
Well I look forward to learning here and hopefully in time Ill have gained some
knowledge to contribute some insight myself. See ya around:thumbup:

Welcome to a great forum and a even better:D subforum:thumbup:

Some of the best knives you can get, and definitly best quality for the price... sheath and knives all.

Now you need a production run DPX.... yes i am enabling.

Was cutlerylover's review on the izula the one that made you have to have one. You know, the one where he destroys that slab of wood with the izula and then shaves with it. Thats the one that did it for me. Plus i already knew of ESEE quality

I tell you, once you get the izula then comes the other esees. I was always a sog benchmade guy until I found out about esee. I was always scared to "use" my knives in fear I was gonna break them or mar the finish... With esee the more used the better... I've done so much with my izula and 4 and they still look brand new...

Yea. CutleryLovers video was definatley one of the reviews that pursuaded me.
Blunttruth had a good one too. Im really into the neck carry option for a small
fixed blade. Cant break a hunk of steel.:D My edc system will start to look pretty
good next week. Emerson cqc-7 in my pocket, Izula around my neck, fenix e01 on
my keychain... too bad I live in California and cant carry a firearm:( Oh well.

Welcome to the coolest , if not weirdest, club around. (Ok, weirdest may be roller derby, but after roller derby...)

Wanna really enjoy knives? Get out somewhere where you really NEED your knife. You'll know what features are important to you and it will help guide your future purchases to be a little more intelligent. The RAT Wilderness Ops course is a great place to start. You'll get skills, get to handle all different kinds of knives and learn alot about your gear. And have a heck of a good time.

I have, or have had Al-Mar, Busse, Benchmade, Beckers, Buck, Chris Reeve, CRKT, Emerson, Gerber, Grayman, Ontario, Randall, SOG, Striders, Zero Tolerance, etc, etc, etc. Some of them were worth it, some of them weren't. Some looked awesome, some looked awesome and felt awesome but didn't work awesome.

With the exception of a very select few pieces, I'm almost exclusively an ESEE guy now. My opinion is that there's nothing out there that beats their stuff for the money. That's just my opinion.

Welcome and enjoy. The IZULA is just the beginning. Sooner or later you will be giving more of your money to ESEE. Well worth every penny.

Welcome to ESEE knives and to bladeforums... I started with the Izula as well after seeing everyone and their mom recommend ESEE knives. I honestly wasn't expecting much for a small skeletonized knife for under 50 bucks, but when I received it, I was hooked. I then bought a Junglas. Next is a 3 or 4 and some other gear.

You may find your knife collecting spiraling out of control at some point. If this happens, please consult bladeforums and the ESEE subforum immediately for the recommended course of action.

Expatriated - So was the Chris Reeve worth it? ;).

I had the large sebenza. I've got nothing bad to say about Chris Reeve (either the man, the company or the knives themselves.). It was a very solid folder. And it opened as smoothly as any I've ever held. Looked good, too. I never abused it, although I know people that have and it held up just fine. By the way, if you guys ever get the chance to meet Chris, take the opportunity. What a heck of a down to earth guy. Super nice.

The Sebenza just wasn't for me. I gave it to a buddy. I've got one of those massive ZT recurve folders, a Strider SNG and a couple of Emersons sitting on my dresser right now and what do I end up carrying everyday? An old Swiss Army Knife cause I like all the functions on it. I know that's not cool in today's velcro and kydex world of zombie-fighting but that's just me. I try them all and keep coming back to the old SAK. What can I say? Too much MacGyver as a kid, I guess.

I do always have my HEST close by, though--now that knife, I LOVE.

Hahahaha - I surely know where you are coming from and thanks for making me feel less alone about the new blade addiction.

Got an RC-3 a couple of weeks ago and a CQC-7 is in my mailbox has I am typing this - No I will not give you my home addy

Now debating on HEST, RC-4 or Junglas for my next ESEE. And on the EDC side, still not sure between the Benchmade mini-griptilian or the SOG mini x-ray - really like the low carry clip on it.

Anyhow, seems like we have similar tastes and are both recent to this forum.

Keep us posted on your collection evolution and I will do the same.

Cheers from a follow Rat Pack aspiree!!

Welcome and have another cup of the special ESEE Kool-Aid. :D It's good isn't it!?

This is easily the best forum I've ever been a part of. Some of the most down to earth people you'll ever meet. Most forums are crawling with jerks and trolls, but you almost never find that here. Very refreshing. Great group of people.
