Assault Shaker Update

The current batch of Assault Shakers has been trapped at our coater for more than three weeks due to machinery difficulties at their plant. After they finally had things up and running, it turns out that they must not have had "everything" fixed with their equipment as the coating just doesn't look right. We are currently hand stripping the coating off of these blades and they will then be re-coated. For those of you who are waiting for these hot little blades it will probably be another 10 days until we ship.

Thanks for your patience,

Jerry Busse

Does that include Pepper Shakers?

In any case, take whatever time you need to do it right.

Cheers!

Mike

When I ordered the Pepper Shaker, Jerry asked me whether I wanted bead blasted or coated. We discussed it for a bit, and agreed that, for my intended use, I should take the extra protection of coated. So, that's what I ordered.

Good Evening Everyone-

Great feedback from Wauseon in regard to the littlest o' Busses. When the Pepper Shakers were first offered, I spoke with Contender (Marc) about coating options.

Together, we determined the bead-blasted finish would be "non-reflective, no-nonsense, and businesslike," so that's what I chose. My Steel Heart E is in the standard crinkle-finish with gray micarta grips. Variety is the spice of life....

Evolute, you're right-on-the-money when you say:

In any case, take whatever time you need to do it right.
Jerry, thanks for the heads-up out here in cyberspace. What's two weeks when the finished product will be perfect?

Some of the Pepper Shakers will be coated by special request. The others will have the double cut finish. It's all a matter of preference. Personally, I think everyone should have both. .. but then that's me. . . "Mr Practicality"

Jerry - thank you most kindly for the update. With the knowledge that you are striving for the best possible product you can provide, I'm most comfortable with the delay. Thank you for the heads-up.

Hand stripping does not sound like fun.

Quick question, Jerry:

Whose orders does the delay affect? That is, does it affect all orders starting in April and before, etc.? Or do you have a range of dates?

Thanks.
-Jerome

Good Evening Everyone-

Could someone post a URL that discusses the differences between the new & improved Double Cut Finish as compared with the normal beadblast finish? Did a search and I can't come up with much.

If you know the differences off the top of your head, chime in! :)

It appears that if someone orders a Busse knife, they're going to have a choice between CG Crinkle Finish, Satin, or Double Cut. Sound about right to you guys?

Gracias,

Good Evening Everyone-

Regarding the post above....a comparison photo of the regular beadblast finish with the Double Cut Finish would be SA-WEET!

This request sounds like it might be crossing into Eric Isaacson territory....

Thanks,

I don't have any comparison pics of these two yet, however, once I receive my Pepper Shaker I'll get some posted.

Anyone else able to help ?

Jerry, I can help!

For a modest fee, you can send me the affected Assault Shakers and I will use the daylights out of them in an effort to wear the off; this may take some time. Upon completion of this mission, I will return the knives to you. Please include return postage.:D

Good Evening Everyone-

If the shipping prediction is "on-track," we only have about a week or so to go before the Assault n' Pepper Shakers start shipping. Can't wait to see the new Double Cut Finish.

Woo-hoo! (use Homer Simpson voice here...)
