Blade-Lover --- Howdy!
If you wrap that handle, it may not fit your sheath anymore; it depends upon HOW you execute the wrap... Be sure to determine WHERE, PRECISELY, the sheath connects with the knife, & don't wrap that high up the handle/ricasso. I've done that before, & boy, do ya feel dumb, when it doesn't connect anymore after wrapping! (oops...

)
i've done a lot of handle-wrapping, but never on an Assault Shaker; i have a friend who has one; maybe i can borrow his tonight, & practice a wrap on it; then post to ya again on what works, what doesn't???
You will need about 8 feet of cord to wrap it, with an Oriental-Diamond Weave pattern, on a 3+ inch handle, if you want a lanyard. i use 12 feet over a four-inch span, which is about what my hand requires for good purchase on most knife-handles. When i wrapped my Sword handle, it took 30 feet of cord (!!!) + 2.5 hours of time. The underlying wood of the handle is very slick on that, tho; so most do NOT take so long. RE: Strider's method; they don't show you the underwrap tie-off step; it would be between step 3 & 4... so when you do wraps, don't be thinkin' that their instructo's are complete! They also show a "loose knife" in their pics: HA! ~DANGER, Will Robinson, Danger!~ (robot arms flailing wildly...) PUT that Blade [rag-wrapped] into a vice, point down & protected, & THEN attempt the wrap, or you may never wrap again... if you wish ANY tightness at all in your wrap (so it stays wrapped & not loosen) you will need that "third hand." If it's done right, i'm not positive, of course, but i 'm thinking that the slim profile shouldn't be TOO compromised: we'll see. (Strider gets away with it on their smaller models.)
Yes, the Busse Assault Shaker has larger tang-holes (lightening holes, actually...) than others, but i believe it could be done... i will attempt to pry one from my friend to try... Talk to ya soon....
