I'm going to be removing the magnum scales on my NMFBM and I need to find replacement screws. I have searched all the knife making web stores i can Google and so far no luck. I'm looking for Hex screws. I believe the size I will need will be 1/4 thick and 1 inch long. I prefer to get the type screws that have hex's on both sides with a female connector in the middle.

If anyone knows where I can find such screws let me know. This is the only thing holding me back from modding my mistress I can't wait.

Thanks,

Mike P

Instead you could get 1/4" stainless steel break line and flare it in the holes to look like the original after you mod your handles...

Not sure how I would flair them. I'm looking for screws for its ease of removing.

How thick is your NMFBM, and are you putting the scales back on, or making new ones? The connectors you would want are a 1/4" diameter #8x32 female standoffs. The length would be up to you. A 1/4" long one would work, but you may need to countersink the screw a bit farther into the scales, or find longer screws or longer standoffs. The 1/4" connectors can be found here
I have put many together with those connectors and #8x32x3/8" flat head screws similar to these, which you should be able to find at your local industrial hardware store.
I hope this helps you out, and gets you on your way. Let us see it when you're done!

Cool Thank you I will post a new thread when done. I have a .28 satin show NMFBM. I gave it a thinner Full height convex grind like the sar series. Im also drilling some holes in the tang to balance her back out. The show NMFBM's were pretty heavy mine was around 35 oz so I'm thinking I will get her down to 30 31 oz. Perfection if you ask me.

So I found the Conectors, now I just need screws Hex, .5 inch long each, 1/4 inch thick and Flat head or round countersunk.
