Assistance needed to authenticate Hibben Knives

My husband and I have been collecting various knives, which include the Hibben Fantasy Knives. We had missed a few along the way, and since they are so hard to locate (the Signature Issue ones), we decided to look at online auctions.

While we know that there are dangers in this, we had no idea what we were up against.

There seem to be so many con artists out there. They will tell you almost anything to sell you a knife, and it is hard to sort out the lies from the truth (no one ever said that they were exempt from "truth in advertising").

We bid on a knife, and won, but after bidding, and before receiving the knife, we thought that things might be a little fishy...and now that we have the knife, it appears that they were, but we need some help to be sure.

On the Raptor knife, can someone tell us how the markings look on an authentic knife. Ours seems fishy to us. It is quite different in markings from our others.

Also, was there possibly a "serial number" series of this knife that was NOT part of the Signature Issue knives, and not part of the gold series, but just a serial numbered series? The knife that we have is marked with a number, and we were told that it was a serial numbered Hibben, which to our knowledge was only in the two series listed above. So we thought that we were getting a good deal. However, now we are wondering.

Can anyone please tell us what it should look like?

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Ann P. McNally
