Assistance on axe tomahawk

Recent purchase a vintage axe tomahawk which is marked C + R on the upper part of the blade, on the other side has + ( then a, l with 2 lines thru it) (another mark can't read) then another +, unable to find any information, marker, age, or value.
 
axe tomahawk? is it an axe or a tomahawk?
