Hello which the best way to store assisted knives as Chive or SOG Blink to avoid weak the spring?
Closed, opened, midway open.
Thanks

Iv had a chive for ages and didnt even consider that an issue, it still works like new and its had alot use by me and interested friends.

I really don't think it's an issue...

But I'd guess that, since the spring holds the blade under tension in the closed position, you'd keep both the torsion bars and the locking liners under the least stress if you stored 'em in the open position.

I actually (this is my own deduction) there isn't much tension in the spring when it is completely closed because the spring bar is pulled past the point of maximum tension. That's why it stays closed. I could be wrong.

I think for a 100% answer just e-mail Kershaw theyl help you im sure. ;)

Open. Spares not only the torsion bar, but also the liner.
Unfortunately, the spring will wear off and break eventually :( I have changed 3 springs at my Chive so far and I can't say I carried it that much :(
