Assisted Opener OR Axis Lock?

I am not sure if these two categories are mutually exclusive or not. Would like a larger blade between 3.5 to 4 inches, which is very fast to deploy and locks open with an audible click. Benchmade is what I am thinking about, but open to ideas of others in the 150.00 or a little over price range.

So far my first choice A/O is BM 580/581 or 670, but wish the blade was a little bigger.
Are there some larger blade Axis locks which are very fast to open?

My Benchmade Bedlam Manual 860BK is VERY fast to open and just under 150 at Grand Prairie Knives. The Benchmade 710 is also a great choice and quick to open

the BM 580 sounds like what you are looking for (only mentioned one with axis lock and open assist). Also, the 520 Presidio axis, though not assisted open, does open very quick. maybe a BM osborne 940?
those are your best bets.

Sounds like the 580 is exactly what you want. Probably one of the fastest AO knives out there, and the axis lock just makes it that much better. Definitely check out the new 581, its 10 times better in every way. Plus there is a website right now thats having a 25% off all benchmades (cant say it due to deal spotting) but if you'd like i can send you a pm of the site.

check out the benchmade harley davidson min hardtail's there d2 steel, axis lock, crazy sharp and right in that price range. feel alot like an updated buck 112

Please PM with site.

I think putting AO on a Axis lock knife is a step backward. You can open a regular Axis lock knife faster than an AO knife, and then close it faster than any other knife ever.

I'm with Joshua J. Manual Axis locks open just as fast or faster (definitely no slower) than AOs and close faster. If you're looking for a knife that opens fast, a manual Axis is one of the best choices.
