I just bought a kershaw leek because I needed a knife under 3 inches for any time I go into D.C. but now I'm reading conflicting things on assisted openers being legal. Anyone have any problems with this?

I wish I could help but am not sure about this. I live in Maryland, which is a very restrictive state. In Maryland, most counties would have no problem with that.
You may want to check with Knife Rights.org You could contact the police, but unfortunately some of them may not really know for sure either. I think you are ok, but just can't say for sure.
