Assualt shaker as EDC?

Hi, thinking about a small fixed blade as an EDC, and figured if your gonna go, go big, and what could be bigger than a Busse?!(So to speak) Anyway, after that weird rant, opinions? I've got smallish hands (sz 7 1/2 ring)so the size isn't a big deal, I dont like neck carry though, so is the sheath set up for belt carry or would I need to have a kydex made? Thanks!:D
 
Hi Sam. I just got an Assault Shaker in and so far am loving it. Tough little knife. I took the neck cord off and just keep it in my pocket. I think the sheath I have for it is the stock neck carry one. It does not have a belt carry option to it. I've seen some nice belt sheaths for them from Dwayne and Buy Brown. I don't think I'm going to bother getting one though as it's very comfortable to keep in my pocket. Hope this helps.
 
I carry my Shaker all the time. I made a small kydex sheath for it that just slides into my pocket. Very comfortable and my most useful EDC. :thumbup:
 
What about a Skeleton Key??? I carried a Rat Tail forever as my EDC but I am moving up to INFI on all levels :D Skeleton Keys are a nice design, easily stashed and you can get a sheath for relatively cheap that will high ride or go horizontal. Did I mention the coating colors? Urban camo, grey, black, tan.....nuff said.
 
I like my skeleton key for when I'm out in the woods but, it is a little on the long side for me as far as an EDC. The Assault Shaker seems to be the best for me so far with the GW being a close second.
 
I'm telling you, the Police and Combat Recruits excel in this application. The Bad Warden would make a good choice too, in the micarta and DCBB flavors:

I carry an AS every day. I had David Brown make a sheath for me. It is a kydex combo sheath that holds my AS and next to it a Leatherman P4, it has a clip so I can wear it with everything, including the gym shorts I wear at night at the firehouse where I work. It works like a charm and the AS is usually all of the knife I need on most days.

I also have a big brother combo sheath similar in design for my Heavy Duty and a Leatherman Wave.
 
Great pick for a EDC Sam. :thumbup:

I drilled an extra hole in my stock Kydex sheath to fit a mini-TecLoc and it works great! I also added a wrap to the grip and a tail for my pinky.

Yeah, but you never see those, and you can usually pick up a AS for less than 180.00!
 
My Shaker gets carried a lot, especially in knife sensitive areas where the AD or worse the MrS would be looked at harshly. The round bottom sheath tends to make it look more like a tool case than a knife sheath.

Those are really cool. I's consider something like that for my Rat Tail. What are all the carry options?
 
For the X loop: Vertical, Horizontal (for 1.25 inch belts, no wider), and if your belt is thin enough, canted (1" belts). The original style of badass was a horizontal only option with a back like so...
