Astro Popularity

I never really pay attention to how popular something is,if I like it Iget oneand go from there.fwiw I've been thinking of an astro just because I dont have one
 
Isn't it only available in stainless? if it could be had in 01 I wonder if they would sell more :confused:
 
It is only available in stainless and there are no options for a Model 17. I get 10 to 20 requests for Randalls every day and rarely get one for an Astro. However, the very old versions from the 60's to early 70's go for really big bucks.

My wife, fresh out of High School worked on the Cape during the last days of the program for which the Astro was created. We have a photo of the Astronauts with all their autographs. So a few years back I ordered an Astro and it is now to be shipped. My question was one of curiosity. This Astro will be married to the photo mentioned in a display case.
 
I bet that will be some show piece on display in your home. Sounds very nice!
 
I like the Astro, ordered one back in 2004, shouldn't take very long now :)
 
Though many Randalls have a fascinating history behind them, The story of the Astro still gets me...

When I visited the Randall shop a couple of years ago, it was the knife I ordered! It ought to be avaialable for delivery at the end of the year...

Mine will be shipped on the 26th of this month. Do they still tie the brass screwdriver to the knife as in the Randall Knife book?
 
That is one of the things that I LOVE about Randall, is the fascinating history. I like the Astro.
