I just got one .At the time I knew nothing about them.I came across an article about percentages of laptops sent back for repair. They said the better ones had a 12% return rate but the ASUS beat them all with a return rate of just 6 % !!! That's a great selling point . Then I talked to three computer geek friends who make there own computers .They said they would only use one motherboard - an ASUS !! I was convinced to try one and I've had this one for about a month. Works fine.

asus eee netbook...love it for what it is; a compact traveling websurfing machine...its keyboard is too tiny to do real work on, though many (especially college types) do use it as their primary...my primary is a thinkpad t60...

I love them, have a 1st gen EEEPC that's basically ancient now, but the thing's a tank. I dropped it at least 5 times so far, some of them open. No damage at all except for popping the speaker housing back in.

Asus makes nice little netbooks and they were one of the pioneers of the form, but these days, EVERYBODY has one, so it's worth shopping around. My personal favorite place to check is the Dell outlet, where you can get silly deals on all kinds of stuff, netbooks (their netbook line is the Mini) included. Watch their twitter feed for coupons and snag one when there is an active coupon and a good configuration that you see. I got my wife a pimped out Mini 10 about 6 months ago for something like $215.

I have a 10" EEE, very solid little machine, it's alright for typing (a little tape on the back of the keyboard with make it rock solid). They're cool about the warranty too; as long as mods you've made to it didn't cause the damage, it's all good.

I have one of the G50 Gaming Series computers. It has been nothing short of exceptional. There are faster computers out now, but it can handle any task with ease. At the time it sported similar stats to far more expensive computers (XPS, Alienware) for about 1/2 the price. I can't say anything about customer service as I've had no issues.

I have an ASUS M3000N with a busted button board (power switch is on it) It's a small cheap part that I can't find no matter how hard I tried. I don't like companies that are hard up when it comes to repair parts.

I have used Microsoft products ever since DOS (dos is actually very reliable) but now use MAC and gone very quickly were all the headaches.

If I want wanted maximum flexibility and control I would have learned to use a real program like Linux or Unix but for what it is designed to do MACs and MAC OS is great.

I have a friend who bought the Asus and he had to send it back after 2 weeks. I got the Dell and it seems to be a good comp.

I just gave my first ASUS to my wife and decided to buy a newer model for myself. The new one is a G51Vx and it is awesome! With ASUS you typically get better components at a lower price and a 2 year warranty with an additional 1 year accident warranty included. Hard to beat.

I have a customized ASUS laptop that my local guru in town put together for me.

After two years I have nothing bad to say about it.
