at a knife show.. need help

hey guys, im at a gun and knife show right now and can use some help. there are some knives im really interested in. first is the spyderco SpyKer in great condition hes selling for and he wants $200 for it i'd offer about $160 or so. next is the caly 3 in perfect condition in zdp and cf he says for $210 (lol, id pay about $160). next is a spyderco military in camo and one in black with the militarymarking on the blade. there also have some zero tolerences but they dont strike my fancy. i really need some help deciding. if you guys have any ideas ill look for some. also why do sellers think theyre so smart? i have people telling me my hair whittiling sharp endura isnt that sharp and he hands me a dull ass chiesel ground "custom" thats a piece of crap.. lol

They know better. They just don't care because being a cocky sunovagun can be tremendously effective salesmanship.
 
You'd be overpaying for both Spydercos IMHO. To be honest I wouldn't pay over $130 for the Caly 3 and I wouldn't pay more than $160 for the Spyker. Dealers think they are so smart because this is what they have chosen to do for a living and they want to seem like they know exactly what they are doing. Even if they don't know a thing about their living they will try their damndest to make you believe they know what they are talking about. They should be informative, but they shouldn't be telling you that your knife isn't that sharp. To me that just creates some sort of hostility. You can be good at what you do and you can be a great salesman, but you don't have to be an ass.
 
The Caly 3 ZDP is on a sale at my favorite Spyderco Dealer for 107$.
The Spyker seems expensive too.
 
I'm done trying to buy knives at a gun show. One guy did offer me the Green Beret knife at a good price last year (REALLY wish I had taken him up on it) but beyond that I usually have prices thrown at me that are pretty unrealistic. Then again, it could just be the show that comes around here. Not many quality knives there at all, half of them dont even have names on the knives...

Found mine for $90 after some serious search time. Just because something goes for an average price doesn't mean that's always the price. I can see a CF Caly 3 going for $109.
 
I know the exact place Lorenzo's talking about and the Caly 3 ZDP Carbon is indeed offered there for $107.90. I have done several hundred dollars worth of business with them and they are dead reliable, IMO.
 
Hi, I'm willing to pay 200$ for the spyker:( I can't find it for anything cheaper than 250$ -sigh-
you said you found it at a gunshow, what was the name of it?

There is a Spyker for sale in the exchange section right now for lower than the OP offered the dealer.
 
That was almost a year ago and there is a good chance he didn't even by it. If you want one the for sale forum and Ebay are probably your best bet.

It's also not really accepted behavior to make an offer in a thread. Only Gold members and above are allowed to sell here so he could get in trouble if he posted here.
