Ive been working on learning to do my own "poboy pimp jobs" at home. I finished my first project Friday night on my friends sanrenmu 7010, and did a half pimping on my emerson combat karambit. I couple people have been asking me about it so I thought id start a at home pimp job thread!

Please post some of your own photos of your at home modifications!

Besides changing the colors on these knives I also replaced the washers, sanded down the pivots/frame/washers/ and blade for much smoother actions.

Here are a few I modded over the last couple years

just the scale on this one

800 grit hand satin and toxic handles.

This was a lot harder as you need to take care not to build up heat when grinding the divots. Needless to say it was a long process.

This one the picture doesnt do it justice. The blue was very vibrant and the LBS is a crazy rainbow color. The clip was also bronzed but its not showing up well.

youre certainly a lot better than me! Im just getting my feet wet...

How did you do the scales and that OTF blade? did you use a dremel?

I used an orange bullet shaped grinding bit on a dremel tool. I may have used a green one on the blade. But basically you grind divots over and over until they all run into each other and then etch the blade with the acid they use for etching PCB boards and then sand off the high points to create contrast. Good luck with your modding. Its a fun hobby.

Im just working with changing colors of steel and smoothening up actions. really hoping to get into dremel work but I havent gotten the courage to start dremeling knives yet
