Man, it took a while, but I FINALLY ripped open my USPS box today that had travelled all the way from Alaska to the south of Africa and extracted this awesome BATAC....

I was able to see immediately what the fuss was all about, and it is only possible to fully comprehend why these knives are so special when you actually handle one.

None of the awesome pics I have seen can fully do it justice. It feels like a serious tool in the hand, and after I cut up the blue and red and white box with it, which is my ritual, I could immediately tell that is a cutting machine.

I can also see where the addiction factor comes in. I immediately started craving more... even though I am on a strict steel-free diet until way after Xmas.

I am really stoked I managed to score one of the snakeskin models, as this is truly a magnificent material. Even my wife commented on its beauty.

Ladeez and gennulmen, I give you - my very first Busse! The totally awesome Badger Attack CG...

Nice,

I hope you get some good use out of it. Dont be fooled the BATAC can hold it's own for batoning.

That is a great looking blade, and they really do feel like cutting machines. They just beg to be used. I can't believe the LE's haven't sold out yet.

Way to go . Taking mine to the woods friday . In its new Chuddy Bear pants .

Thanks gents...

There is indeed something genuinely unique about Busse, the substance of the piece is immediately apparent. I was surprised at its sharpness to be honest. So many people talk about re-profiling the blade. I can't imagine why they feel this is necessary.

That cardboard parted like it wasn't even there - no resistance whatsoever. And cardboard is no pushover...

I can't imagine what it feels like to heft a Battle Mistress in the hand. The BATAC feels substantial enough, the BM must be a real short sword.

Now I just need a sheath. And then... what comes next? Leaner Meaner? Game Warden?

Man oh man, what have I gone and done...? :D

Sweet score! It's a nice looking blade especially with those snake scales:eek:

I do have a question though for y'all though...

I've been reading about how the tan coating on the Busse's feels almost like sandpaper. But mine is a smooth, crinkle coat.

Are there two versions of the tan coat? Or is mine actually sage? Its not the sandy colour I expected, rather it has a greenish tint to it.

Was there a sage/snake combo, or is this an earlier version of the tan coating d'you think?

Nice score. The BATAC can take batoning and prying and pretty much whatever you might wish to throw at it. Great knife, and feels huge for its size. One of my favourites, especially with the mag scales.

Congrats! That's a great first Busse - The Snakeskin is nice!

buffalohump, congrats on your new BATAC!!! She's a beauty... Yeah, I see what you mean, in the pic it does have that greenish tint like the Sage color has. Could you maybe snap a few pix outside with it?? :) LOL more gratuitous knife porn, OH yeah! :D ...Might help to determine its true 'colors' when we're done gawkin' at it, LOL :D:thumbup: As far as was there a Sage & Snakeskin combo offered... I believe that there was NOT, which would make yours and maybe a few others like it pretty darn rare, as far as this color combo is concerned.
