Thanks, been looking for one of these for a loooong time. I'll try my hand at a Kydex sheath when it gets here, somebody "customized" the original one. They also lightly engraved their name on the collar under the guard but it should sand out relatively easily.

I love the guard on the little thing, but still like my brass early one too. At first glance they look like a letter opener until you handle it and can appreciate the quality. Of course my favorite is the San Mai version. I am lucky to have all three, not easy to find reasonable in price, good score!

They made a San Mai mini? I knew about the original mini with the brass guard but not that one, I'd love to see pics of all three if you feel like posting them :)

Edit: Oh yeah...the Emporor Collection, just remembered ;) I'd still love to see pics :)

Haven't renewed my paying membership yet so cannot post pix, sorry. I am addicted to San Mai, just picked up a gorgeous SOG Forge VG-10 San Mai, my first VG-10 San Mai Blade(actually two of them).

Whipped this up yesterday afternoon :)

Since it's already a user, I'm thinking of doing a full flat regrind but I'll probably use it as is for a bit to check it out.

While I have it apart to sand the engraving off the bolster I took the opportunity to crown the spine :)

It's always seemed unfinished on all the Cold Steel Tantos, much better now ;)

I was cutting up some boxes last night... forgot how much I hate hollow grinds, especially thick (0.035") saber grinds. I much prefer a high, thin (0.015") flat grind...fixed;)

I did keep the "stupid stuff" tip geometry for now, didn't want to limit it too much:)
