Hey guys,
I was digging in my knife cabinet last night(God,I have got to get this beast organized),anyway in the back, near the bottom,I found two slightly raggedy Cold Steel boxes.
The boxes are marked #58LAKB AK-47 and sure enough inside were two, like new,Cold Steel AK-47's with clip point black blades marked AUS 8A Taiwan. But the knives are
assisted opening with liner locks. I thought the AK-47 was a lockback with the Triad lock. I am not a big Cold Steel fan and I don't remember buying these knives
or trading for them. I am certain I have never used them. Are they some older model? Are they knock-offs? What have I got, other than galloping senility??!!!

They're knock offs. The AK model came in the Ultra-lock then Triad lock. Never been a liner version to my knowledge and I've never seen any Cold Steel with AO.

They're fakes and deserve to be at the bottom of your garbage can rather than the bottom of your knife cabinet.

I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!!Something just smelled wrong about the whole situation....not remembering, knives not in the right place. I keep all my knives grouped by manufacturer and these knives were not
in the Cold Steel section.Since I found these I have gone through every Cold Steel I own and verified each one by model number, detailed description and pictures. All genuine. Thank God!
I am going to take these fake POS and beat them to pieces with a sledge hammer! Thank you so much for your help.

Pics or it didn't happen ;)

Throw them at trees or along side the road for someone to find... I like the sledgehammer idea, it has merit.
