At what dealers do you think zt 0392 will be released?

Blade HQ for sure, my bet is all the "major" online dealers will get them. But then again it will probably end up like the 888 release did with friends of the dealers getting multiples and selling for a huge profit. I am very not pleased with KAI for taking the easy way out, the direct website sale was the best and most fair way.

(If true) ZT will supposedly go back to direct sales once servers and other point of sale issues gets worked out.

The question is, why then did they decide to release the most anticipated ZT BEFORE the kinks got worked out. Instead, they gave it back to the ones who let the abuse happen. Maybe you are right, they kind of wash their hands clean from the trouble of direct sales, after the 0454 hitches.

Well...At least supposedly ONLY the most reputable highest regarded dealers are getting them.

Not exactly accurate Dean. They tired direct sales, which IMHO was a much fairer way to go, and it didn't work out like they wanted it to. They are trying different methods to find something that works. Unfortunately I think that no matter what they do people will find something to complain about. Seems to be an epidemic.

Well, welcome to the world of retail/merchandising. That's everywhere, not just with ZT. If a company can't handle a few angry customers, then they are in the wrong business.

I think what really grinds people's gears is all the indecision they come up with. If they would just find a way and then stick to it, then a lot of people would be happier.

I hated the way the 0454 was executed due to the shopatron errors, but at least that was a step in the right direction. They should have continued along that route and worked out all the bugs, even if it delayed an LE or two.
 
so this is basically an eklipse with titanium handles, bearings, and arguably better steel at about half the price?
I like collaborations :-D

seriously though- what's the catch?

I'm still bothered by how they were treated when they had an active forum here. Most people were polite and had a good time, but some people were just being whiney dicks. Especially about stuff like the LEs.


I hope Dave at least gets some in stock.


I may be a bit cranky today, but those "making of" factory pictures of stuff like the 0560 getting put together were some of the best content the forums ever had IMHO.
 
If you signed up for the newsletter you would have gotten a list emailed yesterday. Blade hq is on the list. I believe sales start at 9 am. Today

I am still confused on how you just refuse or just can't understand simple facts. The direct sales did not go well. They are working on trying to find a solution that will work better. Until then we just have to be patient and see how it goes.

It's not "indecision". Its called "trying to find a solution" to a problem. There is a huge difference.

Good luck trying to snag one....

Hinderer has made knives with 20CV and XHP before, so they could easily match steel if they wanted to, without raising the price.

I have a feeling there will be enough stock across the dealers based on how they are releasing it... I could be wrong but we'll see.

Yes, they did and could again- but my point is the seemingly more for less in this collaboration. I've had a 560 and I didn't think it compared to the XM-18 so it might be apples to oranges vs the eklipse as well... but this seems like a lot of bells and whistles at a good price comparatively at least
