Just wanted to know if anyone here has bought any of Atlanta Cutlery's blade blanks? Any good? Anybody try their Damascus? Are their handle materals good quality? Inquiring minds need to know...

Do not buy Windlass damascus if you might ever want to cut anything with it! It's mild steel, not heat-treatable. The people making it just don't know what they're doing.

We joke about Atlanta Cutlery a lot -- the skull & crossbones daggers with the red eyes that glow in the dark, etc.... Actually not all the knives they sell are junk; some of them are worth buying but you can get them cheaper elsewhere. The same goes for the knifemaker's supplies except for the Windlass damascus blades.

If you're interested in making knives, from kits or from scratch, come on over to the Shop Talk forum on this website. It's a good group, knowledgeable and friendly.
