Here's one that I bet most have never seen.

Wow, nice hawk. Hard to tell from the pic, but its that a Ranger emblem on the haft?

I got it new in 2/2003. They only made 1 or 2 from what I was told. It was made from these models:

Pretty sweet if I do say so myself!

I love the head but I bet it has the typical short leprechaun haft virtually all modern 'tactical' tomahawks have.

I've got to have a handle length of at least 20".

I have one of the spike next generations but I have never seen the poll version thats a rare one

This is a "Safe Queen" so it has never been thrown! I bought the one with the spike from Andy and recieved it on or about Feb 1, 2003 (thats when the first picture was taken, so it was real close to that date... he showed a picture of the one with no spike on some site, maybe here? a few days after I got the one with the spike. I contacted him right away and said I would really love the one with no spike and would he let me exchange the one with the spike for that one..... he agreed and I made the trade and got the spikeless one shown, on or very near to Feb 28,2003.

Sadly, I was going through a divorce and (the sad part) I needed money badly, so I sold it to my brother who stored it away in his safe..... it's still sitting there. Maybe I can talk him out of it since he has only looked at it a couple times. He is not as into knives and such, as I am.

Could it be something desgned by Justin Gingrich when he worked with Andy Prisco?

I have no idea on that. I just thought it looked cool and I really had no use for a spike. It's a good lookin Hawk and maybe I can get it back from the bro..... another of those "wish I hadn't sold that one" items.

I doubt it, I'm sure he'd have mentioned that to me at some point. Those look like they were made by Ambassador, aka Hays Ambassador, aka Hays Montana, which I didn't know ever worked for Andy/ATC. But if Ambassador did make hawks for ATC then it must have been the iteration of ATC that existed after Gingrich's ill-fated relationship with Andy and before the current Fehrman relationship.

Was there a stamp mark on the other side of the head? That would explain a lot.

Nice Hawk MNJON, Sure Is Beautiful, And Good Luck In getting that Beauty back from your Brother, Thank's for sharing the picture,

There are no marking on the head at all. This was made in January or February (early) of 2003. That might give an idea who made it for ATC. My guess is, whoever made the one this was made from, is also the one who made this version. Like I said.... I was told they only made one or two... maybe this is the only one!! Bidding starts at........ ha ha wonder what it would really be worth in that case?

Quite a bit, I would think. I'm pretty sure the ATC Hayes Hawk (the one on the right in JParanee's picture, and Not to be confused with "Hays Hawks") is worth well over $300, possibly close to or over $500 by now considering how rare they are, not to mention how awesome the are. That one was designed by Wally Hayes for ATC, and made from O-1, one of their finest offerings ever, and also a very limited run. If yours is a prototype that didn't make it into full-scale production, i.e., Ambassador (or any other company) made a few for ATC but ATC didn't go through with the contract, it could be a historical anomaly which would make it even more valuable.

From what I hear, Andy isn't one of the guys that doesn't answer emails, so you might have better luck sending him your request for information directly. Be sure to let us know, that is a brilliant hawk you had. And definitely try to get it back!!!

It cost about $300 back then I am thinking!! So hopefully it would be worth more now.

Anyway, I have no idea how to find Andy to write to him. Is he still in the Hawk or Knive business?

i'm pretty sure Andy Prisco had a good legal battle with Hays hawks in Montana over the design of the NGR if i remember correctly. the details can be found in the archives in the ATC forum.

of course Andy seems to have legal battles with just about everybody so who knows.
