Greetings,

I have been reading through the forums and enjoying all the good info.
I was wondering if you guys have any experience with American Tomahawk Company. Their products look great and they seem to be a good company, however, I have left messages via telephone and e-mail with no response, and this worries me, I am sick of companies that only have time for customers at the moment of sale.
Any info on your experiences with ATC would be appreciated.

John

I have no experience with ATC, but I'm curious ....why are you trying to contact them?

most people deal with suzanne from atc as she is better about answering your questions. andy in my experience is hard to get in touch with.

Our number is toll free and Suzanne is almost always available.

I can be hard to contact lately, but not impossible by any means.

We are here for your questions.

Thanks Jiminy, Witchhunter and Andy; I ordered a VTAC from 1SKS because of all the good reviews I read on BF, for the price how can you go wrong!! They are backordered so I might be waiting a while. Although I am really interested in the new ATC/Emerson hawk, I would like to find a good quality hammer poll model, more of a tool than a weapon. Let me know what comes out of the forge Jiminy.

I can do a hammer poll ...I had been thinking of doing one anyways. I just didn't think there was much of a demand for them.

Ya, I waited for a replacement sheath for almost 9 months after paying for it!
They never seemed to have an extra one on hand they could ship me??

Darrell.....................

Whenever we've offered limited runs of Hammer-Polls in the past, we never lit the world on fire with them...spikes outsell hammer polls a hundred to one it seems...

Darrel...I don't know who you are, but you are right in that we definitely don't keep extra sheaths around...it was wrong however if we charged you and you had to wait nine months. We normally turn those requests away to begin with, but it is no excuse for our performance on yours. I apologize.

I have a lot of student who are in the Military here in Australia........ranging from regular to special forces

They always ask me for tomahawks etc etc.

I've sent several emails to ATC.......no reply.

They could have gotten a dozen orders from us by now.

I guess their doing so well, they don't want extra business

Hi all, i also emailed atc re selling their products in australia , as i curently have a business which keeps me tied up 12 hrs a day , email is the most convinient form of contacting people in the us , i also emailed numerous times with no response , i can imagine that the ongoing war on terror is providing plenty of demand but 3 unanswered emails is not only bad for business but also rude , if there has been a tech problem i take back my comments and would still like to put these tools in the hands of the right people over here , but i wait to be proven wrong, all the best , fishmonger

Flop-Shank,

Perhaps the people that see the value in a hammer poll buy hatchets at the local hardware store. The good quality custom makers who do hammer polls (Two Hawks, etc) seem to have long waiting lists. The spike hawk is definitely a formidable weapon, however, not as practical. I guess you could use the side if you had to hammer something.
Sorry to hear of peoples problems with contacting ATC, maybe something in the overseas electronic connection. I hear only good about the company and their products, maybe they are growing very quickly and having a hard time keeping up with communication/bringing in qualified staff, etc... This is a definite possibility as there are so few reputable companies who build quality merchandise. It seems that Andy can be reached through these forums as a last resort.
I have had a VTAC on order with 1SKS for a month now and nothing! I have had a Benelli M4 on order with a local dealer for a month also, no wonder the economy is slow, you can't spend money if you try!
Andy, if you read this, crank out those hawks to your distributors! Fans of your work are waiting.

 I had one on order also. Ordered it while in Afghanistan and wanted it before Iraq. No go. What aggravates me the most is that spme companies advertise the hell out of a product, will be more than happy to take your CC # or MO, then you got about a 6 month minimum wait. Hell, I coulda learned how to make 'em myself in that time period and saved the money and aggravation.

I've had the same problem dealing with manufacturers while trying to produce balisongs. They all claim to do it all, but then they don't want to do the job, or it's one problem or another. No wonder the economy is slow, especially here in Michigan (the rust-belt buckle).
