ATC Model 1 aftermarket sheath

Hi everyone. So, I have an ATC Model 1 tomahawk, and I'd like a different sheath for it. Kydex is good, but it does tend to run off the finish. I'd like a brown or black leather sheath or even a canvas sheath (especially in o.d. green). I've done a lot of searching, but I don't think much exists that is premade.
Does anyone make custom sheaths that can make one for my tomahawk? And what might this cost?

Check the auction site for cold steel Vietnam tomahawk sheaths, or ATC Lagana tomahawk sheaths, or Vietnam tomahawk sheaths

If that fails I can’t recommend mountaineer leather enough.

Post pics when you land something!

I can't imagine a better sheath than the stock ATC sheath. It's one of the best sheaths I've ever used.

The factory kydex is really nice - does it’s job and then some. Classic leather or Canvas would be a nice ( quiet ) option though.

I've heard using it to cut stuff does that too.
I don't cut things with it. It's a fighting tomahawk. I have plenty of other tomahawks for camping and outdoors. Haven't even thrown it. Throwing away a perfectly good weapon never made a lot of sense to me.

You're among friends, not everybody here will admit it but we're all owners of weapons we'll probably never fight with that were bought for the cool factor. I could outfit a clan of mall ninjas myself.

Yeah, I pretty much just use it for practice, as in Colonel Dwight C McLemore's book "The Fighting Tomahawk." I also keep it in the bedside safe, just in case. Indeed I hope I never have to fight with it. It's part of American history, though, and I find that to be a fascinating subject. Especially in regards to the Frontier and the Revolutionary War.

Agreed. Especially the French/Indian Wars.

Threads need pics. I think I’m going to send that Jenny Wren to Mountaineer Leather for a nice quiet sheath. Sean makes some of the absolute best rugs I’ve owned. I can’t post a link but a Google search won’t be a waste of time. Im positive they could make you a Lagana style VTAC replica sheath to your specs.

I agree, should have pics! Here we go! These are the two I usually pair

together. The knife is a custom Fairbairn-Sykes from a defunct company that was in Ohio, called ESA Swords. This was their Gung Ho! line, and it had quite a few options available, including the custom oval handle, custom olive drab and black ceramic finish (there were several colors available) and the custom skull crusher pommel. The only thing that isn't that great is the sheath it came with. It could use a nice sheath, too.

Somebody who can competently use the hawk & knife combo is formidable, thats for sure. Theres a good depiction of it in "The Patriot" and a few in "The Last of the Mohicans".
