Just got back from the show and was able to take a few pictures before my battery died. Not great pictures but at least it is something. I am just posting two pictures but there's a total of 25 in my folder which is PUBLIC, so I think you can view the other 23 from the folder. If not I will post some of them later. The knife Tim Lindsey is holding up is the one raffled off from the BCCI auctions(which I missed out on).

I just went and looked at your other pictures. The first several that you took at the business meeting had my big fat bald head in the way...sorry. :)

It was another marathon Saturday trip for me to Blade.
Left at 2am yesterday, drove 7 hours, enjoyed Blade all day, then drove back another 7 hours and got home early in the morning.

It was good seeing a lot of the regulars that always show up at these events.
tparrott...did you and I get to talk any?

I was glad to see Tim receive the Paul Lentz award.

I didn't take any photos, but Craig took a lot as usual.

Stumps, I don't believe I had the pleasure. Did not know you buy face but would have loved to talk to you. I wish we all had pictures and personal history info here on bladeforums site under PROFILE. It's also hard to keep things together with folks having a real name and another name on the site. I am just a simple southern guberment educated boy and can't keep up the pieces together.
I think my camera was getting a glare off the back of your head, but of course I was creating a glare for the folks behind me when I had my BUCK hat off:) I also was glad to see the other TIM win that award. Got to talk with him for a while and he is a really nice guy, but what else would you expect from a fella buck collector. Also talked to Dale Eeilberg(maybe not spelled right) and Larry O for a good while. Boy do those guys have a great collection of Bucks!! I did buy a few knives and sell a few.

I guess the "t" in "tparrott" stands for Tim. Yes, I meant the other Tim...Tim Lindsey who received the Paul Lentz award.

The other member is Dale Eichberg. He also got two awards for his fantastic display and one was the best of show!
I believe he is also from north Georgia if I remember right.

Sorry I got my head in all those pictures you were taking. :)

Monday PM, just got home. Will stick in a couple of cute ones right this minute. Let me edit the rest and will get them on the forum. 300

General look down the BCCI main street. Youth on a project led by Brent.

Tim Lindsey's granddaughter and her display.

Will stick in a couple more tonight and get the rest fixed up and on forum. If you are a facebook person you can go to the BCCI page and some are already posted there by Tim.

Another main street look, Friday was really crowded for the half day it was open, Sat. was bad but it seemed folks were not in a hurry.

Its become the battle of the banners. We were one of the first to hoist a banner a couple of years ago and now several people are hoisting their's higher than ours. The challenge is accepted and next year we will rule the sky......

Do I see a Brahma 106 Axe sitting on the table next to John Foresman? Has anyone received theirs yet? I was told these were sold out and that I was out of luck since I did not order one before the cut off date.

I will have to check on that.

Back side large view of Buck area. We do not pay for tables to display, Blade required we give up one row on the back side for paying sellers and were given two tables spaced out on ends of other rows to our back. Volunteers setup their displays on those "islands" and I am sure felt a little left out. This photo was taken Friday morning before the crowd got really heavy. I have to get individual photos before the people arrive on Friday afternoon and Sat. Sun can still be crowded with some people still walking thru the BCCI area up to the finish at Sunday 2:00 pm

Tims other granddaughters display. Youth is a major push for BCCI at any display show.

Here in the background in front of Larry Odens display and the BCCI sale table, Steve Shackleford of Blade Magazine is giving a interview to the youth members under direction by Brent. Club President John is checking his emails. Youth members go on a sort of scavenger hunt interviewing various people asking questions that lets them learn the history of the club and history of Buck knives.

If you have a desire to attend the Blade Show with your Buck knives on display there are several considerations to take into account. The public portion of the show runs from Friday at noon till Sun at 2:00pm. Judging of the displays takes place on Sat night for Blade awards and BCCI displayers judge each other Friday afternoon for knife awards during the BCCI general meeting on Sat. afternoon. There are awards, prizes during the meeting and knife sales are held at the end of the meeting. Larry or John can provide you with a judging list that will help you in building a display. Large or small this sheet will give you all the requirements the judges consider. A well organized small display will garner as many points as a mega display. If you just want to come and set a display box of your knives out that is OK also. For safety and security you should have your knives in some type of picture frame type box. Tables are not used for selling knives but some selling goes on behind the displays. As always if you just ask for advice you will be helped with all the details. You are not required to stay with your display, many folks disappear into the crowd for hours at a time. Some emerge clutching some rare Buck knife they found in some corner of the building. People do come up with knives to sell, I thought of some of you when a guy offered to sell me a almost mint 317 for $50 with the sheath......The Atlanta Braves are building a new ballpark within walking distance of the Convention Center so that will be another attraction in the future.

This guy came around looking for info. We got him with Larry and they worked out the knife he wanted info about was a old 124. He has promised to get us all the info including photos and a newsletter story should emerge. Seems he left his Grandfathers 124 with a good friend when he fled Cuba and just recently, guess what his friend was a true friend and returned the knife.

The days at the Blade Show are filled with visual sights, walking and talking. And sometimes it can be too much and you have to chill out. Even fairy princesses.

Tim Lindsey's display about Vern Taylor who started the Buck Collectors Club.

Frank Meek's Award Winning display on Stag Handled Bucks

Gene Merritt's David Yellowhorse display, note how he has made his display where you can see both front and back of these beautiful knives.

Larry Oden's large Award Winning display on history of factory production handles.

Great pictures 300. Thank you for doing this so all us who did not get to go to the show can experience some of the fun as well.

I think it is especially great to see what everyone does to keep the youths busy and engaged.

If I had you in my phone I would have texted you , send you photos and bought it. Was telling this to someone else a few minutes later and he went looking for the guy but couldn't find him. You couldn't miss him he was on O2 and pulling his bottle around. I guess I should have bought it, but when all those knives are around you looking you in the face, you sort of go brain dead. 300

STILL ADDING PHOTOS TO THREAD ABOVE.

Is Steve Shackleford the man with no cap on?
In Larry O's display lower right twin sheath. That's a KNAPP saw w/ a match safe in the 'T' handle with a 1980 Buck knife sharing the sheath. Woah---. Thanks, Craig. DM

David,
The 119 sharing the sheath with the Knapp saw is a one liner from the early to mid- 1960s. I think it is a barrel-nut but my memory fails me. If you have information on the Knapp company, their products, how they were marketed, etc., I would be most appreciative of hearing what you know. The saw handle indicates the company was from Elko, Nevada. By the way, all of the knives in my display are from the 1960s with the exception of a Jerry Bodner miniature in the display case with keeper strap sheaths.
Larry

David,
Yes, Steve S. is the adult with no cap, standing just to the right of Brent Schindewolf who is wearing a red and khaki Buck Knives cap. Steve is a great friend of the BCCI and is not impressed with himself. He cares deeply about our hobby. If you read his monthly column in Blade Magazine, you will understand my sentiments.
Larry

Ok, Larry thanks. I have that saw in its original sheath from that era. Back when I purchased it I researched it an made some notes on my findings. When I find those I'll give you what I have. DM

Think I will start a new post for some more photos.
This is Brian Hugh and his Buck Tactical knife display. He had to rub shoulders with some knife sellers from Russia.

Pat Donovan's Award Winning display which he had to endure with his back to the BCCI table and all it's activity.

Brent Schindewolf's Award winning display on Buck 'Sets'. Brent is a excellent woodworker in addition. Its the only display that is transported in individual quilted protective bags made by his wife Dee.

Dale Eichberg's very large and yet very compact display.

Owen Dady's display with a fisherperson just his size.

Ed Coopers 110 display.

Norm Sevensma's special custom steel Bucks display. Thanks to Norm and Dale for being the Buck Islands.

BCCI General meeting on Sat about to get started.

BCCI Pres. John Foresman getting the General meeting started. Board member sitting at front.

BCCI VP Larry Oden addressing members on upcoming projects and read a letter from Lori Buck saying she was sorry that some of them couldn't be with us.

Here is Tim Lindsey receiving the 2016 Paul Lentz award for outstanding service to the BCCI. Tim took on and overseas the club Facebook page, helps with newletter, serves on the Board and has brought new families and youth into the club. Thanks Tim.

Here are the youth members in attendance, looking over the youth drawing prizes. Brent drew names for the picks of the prizes.

The first two drawn were quick to grab up the cased Buck knife hat pins. And who wouldn't have....
