I am new to BladeForums.com and very glad to have found this site (Actually my wife is to thanks) This was also my first blade show (except local hammer-in's) and WOW what a overwhelming experience. I was there representing The William (Bill) F. Moran Museum & Foundation. We were premiering our new book
"FOREVER A LEGEND" Written by Steve Shackleford Editor of Blade Magazine , Photography and Graphic Layout by Francesco Pachi. This was truly an wonderful experience, meeting great makers and to see the talent that is out there is amazing.

I spoke to the Blade Show rep this morning and am considering attending the 2016. However, having trouble finding reviews from the vendors. Any pointers on where to look?

It is the largest gathering of knife nuts on the planet. It is the show to attend.

Every major manufacturer, dealer, and purveyor is there. Knifemakers and collectors fly in from all over the world.
I fly 24 hours to get there and it is well worth it.

Makers of handmade and custom knives attend and have tables. From what I have seen, they sell all or most of their product very quickly. Stuff in the $1000 and higher area tend to be on display and buyers pop up. People bring big money to the show. It is also a way of mingling with other knife makers and developing a broader customer base. It is not inexpensive to rent tables there. Some of the custom guys here do not display, but attend. I suspect it is because of the price.

It is a huge knife show and worth spending several days there. The knife manufacturers have booths. The only significant knife manufacturer that does not attend Blade is Bark River. Last year, I did not see SOG. Maybe I missed their booth. I wasn't feeling very well and skipped through things rather quickly. Knifeworks had a big spread and were selling knives like crazy. I hope they return in 2016 as there are not that many retailers displaying and selling there.

Wow!

I would love to go to one of those shows.

Are they always in one specific city or do they change cities from year to year?

I would suggest you do a google search on "Blade Show" and wiki has a history summary. But the show is always held in Atlanta GA now. My first exposure was in Knoxville TN and I just went to a "knife show" and really didn't know anything about it beyond that. At that time, gun & knife shows were pretty common in my area. Got a show coffee mug that year and still kind of prize that one (1991 10th Anniversary Blade Show & Cutlery Fair). Wish they would do coffee mugs every year, but to my knowledge that was the only year.
