Fizzer?

Hang in, some one will have an idea of what they mean, or where you can find out. Rust can be removed, and they ARE artifacts. Don't worry.

If I get one of the AC khuks I would treat them like samples
or examples. Cleaned up & displayed--like my other older khuks will be.
Someday.......when I get to finishing them.
As said before, these are too expensive to take a chance on breaking one.
HI for users, AC Nepal khuks for history & collectable coolness.

AC will refund or exchange with no argument,
so one can always try again.
I would be disappointed too if I was expecting some rust &
found that it was all rust.
See the Evapo-Rust thread & others for ideas on rust removal.
A thin coating of rust all over is OK, it does come off.
If there's pitting it just is part of having old metal.
Collectable items are graded on condition.
You don't pay as much for poor condition as for good or excellent cobndition.
Very heavy rust that, once removed, reveals a completely ruined item
is certainly not acceptable, & time for exchange or return.
That doesn't mean you have to clean it first.
Look close & poke at the worst spots,
make a decision & proceed.

BTW,
Welcome.

Fizzer,
ATD made it, it stands for Army Traders Dheradun in India.
41 means made in 1941,

So its a world war 2, MK2 kukri not ww1, and if it is deep rust rather than surface rust its worth getting them to swap it, I would think personaly.

I must say though a week before Atlanta cutlery got these, I paid a small fortune for a ATD kukri on Ebay!{still kicking myself, even though it has real provenance, & a matching scabbard!)

If you don't like it send it back for replacement. I actually liked the ones I had, but sent them both back under the advise of JP and Spiral in order to get what was represented and not a variant. If the rust wasn't pitted or starting to pit I would keep it if I liked it.
Where they get you is where it says, WW I Vintage - later, slightly smaller version of traditional kukris.
You may have gotten a WW II #1-138 instead of a WW I though. Everyone is telling me that AC is good about exchangeing the kukris. I hope so!!!!:D

Yvsa No Already Have A K44 WWII Kukhuri THis One Is Going Back For What They Advertise-WW1 Vintage Thanks For Advice
