Hi.
Does anyone have any experience with Atlanta Cutlery's products?
In particular, I am interested in the quality of their Persian kard and Searles bowie. Thanks and regards, Greg

I bought 3 knives from them a few months ago. Two were decent knives. The 3rd was their Indian Ghurka Regiment khukuri. It needed some sanding, maybe staining of the wooden scales, and some sharpening work. The sheath is fairly farcical. Still, I do believe that if I put in the work it needs, I'd probably be able to take off an opponents' arm, if the need arose. Mine was the full tanged model. I couldn't see going for a short tang and golly knows what binding agent to keep the tang and handle in the same position. However novel the idea of melted plastic bags is, I felt a lot better about the full tang.

The other knives I got were Camillus made KaBAR derivatives, with a bit of serrations near the ricasso, and an alleged saw blade on the spine. The latter looks pretty useless to me. But the fit and finish of the knife is very good, considering the price I paid, and the decent kydex sheaths they came with.

Oh -- and I think that's where I bought my dog tag chain set. Could have been Brigade Quartermaster.

I've never had a problem with their service, but a lot of their proprietary sword products are manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts in India (if I remember correctly). Quality of these products is mediocre at best. If purchasing from them, I'd keep a close eye on the text that states where the item is manufactured.

Hey Greg, I'm interested in their Searles Bowie as well, do you have any plans to order one? I'd be very interested in your review if you do. Atlanta Cutlery does have a 30 day money back guarantee and that seems more than fair. I'd also be curious if you've found any other source for a Searles Bowie in the $100 or under price range? I know I haven't. I believe you do get what you pay for and I'm not looking for great just a reasonable reproduction with decent fit & finish, for a display only piece.
