I love wharncliffe blades, and have been longing for a larger one. Saw some photos of an Atlantic Salt that STR had modified into a waved wharncliffe and the wheels started turning. Had seen what he did with his Salt I and some lignum vitae too. So I sent a yellow FRN plain edge Atlantic Salt and a chunk of maple to STR less than two weeks ago, and got this back in the mail yesterday.
Handles are stabilized birdseye maple over titanium liners. Finished weight is 4 oz. STR offered to skeletonize the liners but its acutally a bit lighter than the Stretch and Schempp Persian I've been carrying. Grip on the Atlantic is quite similar to those two as well, so was very confident it would feel good in my hand, and it does. This one will get some serious pocket time.
Great job STR!
