Hi,

I just got an Atlantic Salt for Christmas. Nice knife, but there's one problem: the blade's pivot is loose enough that I can open it centrifugally, which makes it not so legal where I am. So I figured I'd just tighten the screw, but the screw has a rivet type that doesn't really lend itself to tools. Am I missing something from looking at it? Or is this destined to be a stay at home knife?

Welcome to bladeforums. Either you have a torx bolt or it is pinned construction. You have a few options.
1. Send it back to where it was purchased for a replacement. Could be costly depending on where you live.
2. Contact Spyderco and send it to them based on what their response is. They might replace it, last I heard they don't repair pinned knives.
3. With a hammer and a punch, you can gently peen the pin until you reach the desired tension.
