to Sal or other Spyder-crew,

within 3 days of fondling, opening and closing and very mild use of my stainless steel c70 ATR, the pivot has loosened in a way that the blade has now horizontal play. i'd like to adjust this and set if fixed.

my questions: can i sue a T10 Torx driver fot it? it fits, but doesn't fit perfectly. it's almost like a "modified T12"........(?)

can/should i use LocTite on the thread of the pivot-screw? if so, which one out of LocTite's assortment? (Low strength?).

any other things i should know about the ATR's construction before i unscrew the pivot-screw?

thanks in advance,
dennis

I would recommend blue loctite. Just put a dab on a piece of wax paper and use a toothpick to apply the blue stuff to a few threads (paraphrased from Gollnick). Blue is good because it isn't too hard to break if you have to readjust. Also, if you need to readjust/remove the pivot screw again, you can heat it up with a blowdryer and it'll come out easily.

thanks, i got some other stuff from Bison (since i couldn't find LocTite yet), it's called Bison "Lock Bond" and is supposed to be the same stuff as LocTite. it's also of the type that can still be loosened given enough force and a pre-heating source. i'll give a shot if my ATR keeps loosening at the pivot.

thanks.
