I did a search a while back on the Spyderco ATR, and I didn't see any pics. I did see a small pic in this months Knives Illus. which peeked my interest.

Does anyone have picures of this knife on the net? Also, any latest news and spects would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, this is a post from ThinkOfTheChildren that I found in this thread HERE.
______________

"The ATR stands for "At the Ready."

The ATR will sport the new "cobra hood" on the opening hole. Someone made the good description in this way:
Imagine your ear as the SpyderHole. Now cup your hand to your ear like you are trying to hear something far away. This is basically the cobra hood. It is on the outside part of the hole when the blade is closed so that during opening, it keeps your thumb in the hole even more securely. This should aid in more secure openings under worse conditions.

The handle on the proto was slotted titanium.

The knife carries tip-up because the cobra-hood will not allow a good spydie-drop thereby negating a smooth draw from tip-down.

As mentioned above, it has an integral compression lock (like a sebenza but upside-down

KnifeCenter took a picture of it but it is no longer up. They took it without Sal's permission as he doesn't want pictures of knives released if they are more than 6 months from production."

Thanks, KBR!
From the pics in Knives Illustrated mag it looks like a sure winner. I hope indeed that it is S30v and Ti, instead of a steel/lesser steel configuration.

The ATR is definitely on my "need to get" list....:D

Sal, I can't remember at the moment, but when will the ATR be in production?
