ATR question

Also, I took my blade out of the pivot. There are two small plastic discs on either side that I cannot put back in. Are they nescessary? What should I use to relube it? I was thinking CRK flourinated grease...

hehehe everyone uses them dude.... and when i take a knife apart its always a pita to stick them back in.... now, i can try to explain on text, but its gonna be a pain in the butt.... if you want, email me and i can do it over the phone.

ah, i forgot to say how to do it....

ok, for me, one of the washers ALWAYS sticks to one side of theblade a lot better... so have atleast one on....

now, stick the blade in its slot, and put the big bolt on, but dont screw the other end on.

now, try to pry the handle a bit so there is some space to slip on the other washer on the other side.

thats if you cant take the knife apart completely.

if you CAN take the knife apart completely:

take it apart completely, put the washers on.... ans reassemble the knife

whats that little disk-button thingy on the inside of the lock bar just past the bend cuts?

That is to make sure the lock doesn't get pulled out too far. It has a lip on it that catches on the frame.

Honestly, this is one of the reasons I did not buy the ATR... :( I'm pretty spoiled now with my Sebenza which (dis)assemblies very easily (and under warrenty)

Why wouldn't you just take the whole thing apart? Isn't it only 3 more screws if you already have the pivot bolt out?

Well ... it voids warrenty ...

EDIT: I forgot my other issue. The ATR doesn't use a bushing, meaning pivot tension is not 'fixed' like on a Sebenza, but depends on the tightness of the pivot pin. I'm not saying that that is a bad thing, but I like the Sebenza solution better.

ok, well i followed what you said and was able to get it back together without disassembly. it really wasnt easy at all. i wish i had never done it bc now it doesnt feel the same and i messed up the tip.:(
