I am almost done with this one. Still need to sharpen up and Get rid of some yellow blotches on the micarta. I am not sure if it is the micarta or I burned it. I tried sanding with 120 grit and it is still there. Any ideas that could work?:o I also bought a scotchbrite belt and am trying to get a continuous satin finish.

Here are the specs

Very nice Frank

In my experience, when I get those spots on micarta that don't quite finish out the same as the rest, it's because I have some scratches left over from lower grits. Of course, it could be a coloration issue within the micarta like you said.

Great looking knife, Frank!

Thanks guys. Nathan It could be. If you see the yellowish line above the rear pin and tube That yellow line is on the opposite side as well. I am gonna try it again tomorrow.

I think you may have burnt the micarta by over heating the thong tube when you sanded it.

I had this happen with Green Canvas Micarta and stainless corby bolts. I was merrily sanding away on the handle of a I knife I made, there was a bit of a burnt plastic smell and some smoke and I ended up with dark scorch marks around the bolt on both sides of the handle. The scorch marks sanded out to a yellow colour.
