Hey Guys

If you only want to put the cord halfway down the handle from the head, how do you attach the bottom piece ?

I know if you are going to the end of the handle you can drill a couple of holes, but I would think thats a bad idea in the middle of the handle.

Thanks

I'm not sure what you are doing but I think if you cut a shallow groove around the haft(if its wood or plastic) and tie a simple slip knot there and then lace upwards toward the head it will work out. hope this helps.

That's a great schematic Dusty One. Went home and tried it with a leather lace on my Coal Creek Forge Spike Hawk and it works beautifully.

Thanks!

Glad it worked for you. I have used it many times and have always been happy with it....

Try this no holes needed

Thank's for the Info./picture's on the Para-Cord wrap Dusty One, I dont usually use a Para-Cord wrap on my Hawk's cuz I like changing Handle's to often from Hickory to Curly Maple, But I did this wrap on my Coal Creek Forge "Prospector" and It turned out Great, First one I ever did !

Very nice job!

To keep them from sliding use some two sided tape on the opposite side of where the cord will slide down to lock it in.
Snake Dr. Nice job.....

Thank's Dusty One, Hey this work's great even on smooth steel, I got It so tight on my Cold Steel Bushman It dont slide at all and make's for good grip and the Para-Cord will come In handy In case I need to use the Bushman as a Spear, And Thank's for the double sided tape Info.,

Wet the 550 cord before you wrap it, and wrap it tight as you can get it. I did my CS Trail Hawk that way, and the cord hasn't loosened yet.

Whipping (in the illustration) was originally used to keep large natural fiber ropes from unraveling. I found an illustration in one of my old scout books and have been using that. Thanks for the picture Dusty. Hey Snake - nice work! Thanks for your pictures.
