Attachment points on the back of Taco sheaths

I recently bought a Taco Sheath. It came with a Tek-Lok Belt Clip on the back of it. Because the taco is attached to only one side of the 2" wide clip there is obvious leverage issues. I doubt it will snap off but the physicist in me doesn't like the pry-bar action that's going on.

Anyone else have Taco sheaths? How are yours attached?

Will post a pic later.

As long as the thickness of the sheath material is sufficient, there should be no leverage problems with attaching clips to one side of the sheath. I use .093 thick Concealex with Spyderco G-clips (my design), mounted through the eyelets to further re-enforce the attachment. Never had a problem with clips leveraging off. Gryphon_M-10.jpg

I bought a kydex sheath for a large knife of the foldover taco variety. It came with a piece that wraps around and on that are holes for mounting.

When I make taco sheaths I wrap a kydex band around the sheat to mount my tec locs too.

The drop loop comes off and the tec loc mounts in there instead using all four holes to securely hold the tecloc

Yeah that's basically the same as what mine has. I like the dangler incorporation, I might have to try that sometime.

dtrap,

Are those home made or are you a knife/sheath maker?

I dont make knives but I do make custom sheaths and holsters. I have been pushing plastic for around 5 years now. I do a ton of pistol holsters but my passion is knife sheaths. I also do some custom handle work as well. I did the handles on the izula 2 in the picture. They are g10 with glow inserts.
