Okay so I finally broke down and bought a Buck Vantage. It has been a long time since I bought a Buck (had a bad experience with the 889 a long time ago, namely, lock failure! I kinda wrote off Buck after that) but after constantly reading all the praise for this knife I figured I'd give Buck another chance.

I'm happy to report that my first impressions of the Force Pro are VERY favorable. What a strikingly good-looking knife this is! From the stonewashed blade (the clip and backspacer is even stonewashed!) to the awesome A-TACS camo handle. The knife just feels solid too. Good lockup, and blade centering on mine came perfect. Paul Bos heat treated S30V for 70 dollars? Hard to pass that up. I know I could have gotten it even cheaper had I bought a different Vantage model, but I really like the look of the A-Tacs camo. If I had one criticism on this knife so far it would be that the edge came not so sharp. Nothing the Edge Pro can't fix though.

Congrats Buck, you may have won me back with this knife. I will be incorporating it in to my work EDC along with my Emersons, so time will tell if the Vantage can handle some real work. I hope it does because I'm really digging this blade! Oh, and I like the message that Chuck Buck inlcudes in the box. Now some photos of course:

Oh, and feel free to offer any feedback regarding long-term use with the Vantage. Thanks!

I've been eyeing one of those online. Very nice looking knife.
