Good evening

I am attempting my first handle using multiple types of handle materials. Stag antler, maple burl, and brass. Going to be for a utility/hunting knife I am working on. In order to make sure my tang hole is straight and symmetrical through all pieces, would it be better to build the handle and then drill the hole or drill each piece by itself and then build it on the tang?

Thanks

build it on the tang, shape a little if needed, take it apart, stack pieces in order, reverse course, adding epoxy/ clamp.

I do it both way .First one is much faster and more easy ...........And this is the most easy and precise way to open hole for tang......drill hole first and open /recess?/ on both side with adapted saw .....minute work !
Any machine shop will give you for free saw for metal like this I used ...Ends are as new and they will last you forever .The one with red handle is M2 hss steel and other one is M42...............

Don't worry, it's not always the OP that benefits. There was just a thread about grinding a swedge. I nailed it yesterday on my first try, thanks to some of the responses.

Sorry. Been a busy week since I was on here last. Thanks for the advice

This is what I was leaning towards between the two options. Thanks very much for the advice.
