Attended First knife show!!

I attended the Greater ohio valley knife show and all I can say is what a great experience. I met J. Neilson and Tess in person and a few other people from the Forums. If your a beginning knife maker and haven't been to a knife show all I can say is go. You'll learn alot just talking to the makers. J. and Tess were very nice and there knives and sheaths look great in person.

I couldn't agree more with your comments, especially that part about J and Tess. They are great people.
As you probably found out today, us old knifemakers aren't the grouchy old bastids that some people think we are

The first knife show is an experience not to be forgotten.
This afternoon I had been just talking about mine, wich was also the first one held in Brazil, back in 1993. I had just started working as a knife dealer and there was only a handful of people making knives over here. Things were tough, no customers and even a piece of black micarta was hard to come by, but it was a lot of fun, and many of the people I met back then are still good friends.
Now the show I organize is going to its 5th edition and one of the things that drives me through all the difficulties involved in such job is the satisfaction I know the new guys will have attending it.

Thanks, you guys are too nice. It was great meeting you at the show Will. It was a great show and a super location. I think we all had a great time. Will looked a little stunned at first but, he got into the swing of things quickly...like spending too much on handle material, an affliction we're all cursed with. I look forward to seeing you at another show in the near future and again, if we can do anything to help out just let us know.

I had fun there too, it was my first knife show since I was a little kid. I met Will, we talked about hollow vs convex grinds for a bit. I also got to meet J Neilson whose knives look even better in person then in his pics. I got lots of handle materials and a couple other things. All in all a good two days.
