Attention all Kit-knifemakers

From what I have seen, though I do not claim to be an authority in any right about the subject, Kit knives, especially smaller ones, run in the $40-$60 realm. That gets you a well finished, heat treated blade in common steel with a couple pieces of common handle material and pins, but not necessarily in all cases. Kits should also include a letter describing how you assemble the knives and give little tips and hints on how to do it, and where possible hang-up might occur and how to deal with them. Instructions are nice, but insight is better.

For Me, a 400 grit finish is optimal because it leaves minimal hand sanding if I want a better finish.

I have always liked the simplicity and pure utility concepts of your knives, and I think thta any of the current designs that you have would be worth while as a kit.

Let me know when you are selling them. $40.00 is good with everything but scales. I have done kits before and the instructions were not at all helpful.

I just looked at your website.
I particularly liked your Randy Martin experience section since I also admire and respect the man and was also lucky to have visited his shop. Your statement of not being willing to copy his knives for profit shows class and integrity. Good luck to you in your knifemaking career.
